First of all, this was a fun assignment! I liked being challenged to find things I normally wouldn't shoot. I found 10 of the things on the list; tree, bird, car, platypus, mom, sky, floor, something red, something green and something funny. Although not a part of the assignment, I pushed myself to try and find a creative way to shoot these objects and to do it all with manual settings.
I had three separate photo shoots. The first one was indoors, with no flash, trying to take advantage of window light as my light source. I was able to shoot the platypus, mom, floor, something red, something green and something funny. My first photo came from this session.
My second shoot was outdoors in the late afternoon. I don't think the high for the day was even 10ยบ F! I was able to capture the tree, bird, car and sky. My second photo came from this outing.
My third shoot was also outdoors but during the middle of the day in the harshest light. I was able to take advantage of the inversion in the Utah valley sky. During this photo shoot I almost got an awesome shot of an eagle but it flew away when I shut my car door! I was able to get some pretty cool shots of some trees and the sky, though. My third photo came from this outing.

Things I learned during these photo shoots are...
- Get down low
- Get as close as your lens will allow
- Take advantage of natural light
- Experiment
- Take time to compose a shot
- Always take a camera with you
- Be quiet
- Be aware of your shadow
- Be prepared for freezing weather
- Don't pass up a chance to stop and take a photo
Haiku is easy,
It should not rhyme or reason.
